I don’t have a dog yet, will you help me find the right breed for my lifestyle?

Yes. Some breeds may not require a lot of exercise but are really social, so matching up those traits with your personality as an owner creates a more seamless life. How much energy do you have?

Do you train dogs?

No. I’m from the “Teach a man to fish” school of thought. I believe that “training” is an everyday, lifelong commitment to your pet. I’ll teach you how to teach your pet, and you’ll be empowered to create a happier, healthier environment for your family.

What’s the best age to start training my puppy?

You can start the day you bring him home. It can be as young as 8-12 weeks. If you’re not getting your dog until 12-16 weeks, the breeder can start the potty training.

How long are consultations?

You can book anywhere from 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Ask me anything that might be troubling you with your puppy or dog!

How long will it take for me to train my puppy?

Truthfully, it’s an investment of time. It takes the first year to really instill training. You’ll begin advanced commands between 6 and 12 months, following a good foundation of basic training. Reinforcing the training is a lifelong process.

Can you help me live a more peaceful balanced life with my pup?

Absolutely, that’s what I do. With a small training session, I can show you how to live a life that mutually benefits you and your dog.

What is your cancellation policy?

Standard 24 hours, by email at jacqueline@thecaninecouch.com.

What is your refund policy?

Due to the nature of the service, I don’t accept refunds. I can issue you a credit for the amount of your payment for training consultation valid for one year from the date of cancellation.

How do you accept payment?

I accept all major credit cards through Squareup.
I also accept cash at in person consultations and personal check/money order received before appointment.

Do I need to have anything prepared for the appointment?

I’ll need to know the breed of your dog and age. It would be beneficial to know a basic medical history and any prior or existing medical or behavioral issues. Write down any questions you might have, and we’ll address them during the appointment.

When will I billed?

All appointments are billed before the consultation.

How much do I need to do?

This is a consulting service teaching you to train your own dog. It’s important that you want to active part of your dog’s well being and your well being. You’ll learn how to do it the right way and the most effective way, so you can see results.
